On September 8 the company reported that CHAPTER-3, the pivotal once-daily prophylaxis study of deucrictibant, met its primary endpoint and every secondary efficacy measure. Attack rates fell 83 percent versus placebo across all three hereditary angioedema types. That readout sits on top of the December RAPIDe-3 win in the on-demand setting and a mid-year New Drug Application acceptance for the immediate-release capsule. The equity is no longer a binary late-stage option. It is a pre-revenue commercial-build story with two registrational datasets and a cash pile that management says funds operations into 2028.
The commercial argument is that one oral bradykinin B2 antagonist can serve both prevention and rescue, something no competitor currently offers with the same molecule. BioCryst already sells an oral prophylaxis pill, and KalVista has an approved oral on-demand option, while Takeda's injectable lanadelumab still sets the efficacy bar many specialists use. Cash stood at €318 million after a May underwritten raise. First-half operating cash use was about €87 million. General and administrative spend jumped as the company hired toward a United States launch. The tension is whether that spend buys a franchise or merely funds a late arrival into a crowded rare-disease category.
What remains unresolved is not whether deucrictibant works in a trial. Both pivotal programs cleared their statistical hurdles. The open questions are label, timing, and share. The Food and Drug Administration has set an action date of April 23. That review clock runs into 2027 for the on-demand capsule. An extended-release prophylaxis filing is planned for the first half of the following year. An acquired-angioedema study, CREAATE, is still enrolling. At a mid-September quote near $38, the market already treats dual approval as the base case. The question for the coming year is whether regulators and payers grant the same-molecule franchise that the September data now make scientifically plausible.
