Guanajuato Silver is a five-mine precious metals operator in central Mexico that just posted its second consecutive quarter of positive net income. That result reframes a long-losing junior into a producer with real unit economics, and the distinction changes how the stock should be valued. The company produces silver, gold, lead, and zinc from operations in the Guanajuato and Durango states, and over 95 percent of revenue now flows from precious metals sales.

The load-bearing variable is all-in sustaining cost per silver-equivalent ounce, which climbed to $70.62. The number arrived in the second quarter of 2026 as the company poured record capital into development at the newly acquired Bolanitos mine and paused mining at Valenciana to rebuild its resource. The cost base is still catching up to the price environment, and the market is pricing that gap as a risk rather than a solved problem. The question is whether the front-loaded spending is a temporary distortion or a signal of structural inefficiency.

Mine operating income of $9.1 million in the second quarter shows the business model works at current metal prices. The forward question is whether the $35 million capital program actually converts into lower unit costs. The next two quarters resolve that question, and the answer determines whether the stock is a producer at a discount or a junior still paying for its integration.
