Liberty Capital Corporation (GLIBA): An Alaska Monopoly Wearing a Liberty Discount

Liberty Capital is a vertically integrated Alaska broadband and data carrier that has been rebuilt as a de facto utility, and the market is not yet pricing that reset.

The most important recent development is the rebrand and governance reset that took effect in May 2026, paired with the pending Quintillion fiber acquisition. The rebrand to Liberty Capital Corporation recast the former GCI Liberty as a stand-alone Alaska network company.

The central tension is that a near-monopoly data franchise with a high adjusted EBITDA margin is being marked down on a thin free cash flow print. The year is a heavy capital investment year, and the spending is squeezing the near-term cash conversion even though management points to a meaningful step-up in 2027.

The catalyst is the close of the Quintillion deal in the fourth quarter, followed by the start of the quarterly dividend in December.
