Crexendo, Inc. (CXDO): Software Platform Meets Inorganic Scale

Crexendo arrives at the second half of 2026 as a different business than the one that began the year, with the March acquisition of Estech Systems reshaping both the revenue base and the underlying composition of growth. Total revenue in the second quarter reached $24.6M, up 49% year-over-year. Adjusted EBITDA climbed 46% to $4.1M. The annualized exit recurring revenue base crossed $81M for the first time. The shape of that growth, however, is the more interesting story, because $7.0M of the quarter-over-quarter increment arrived through inorganic means rather than organic commercial progress. Strip out the Estech contribution and the underlying business grew at a far more modest pace, leaving investors to weigh how much of the headline expansion is repeatable and how much is a one-time rebase.

Three forces compete to define the forward profile. The first is the NetSapiens platform-software franchise, where management secured eleven new service-provider logos in the first half versus only two in the prior-year period, an sharp acceleration that hints at underlying platform momentum. The second is the Estech integration itself, which brought tangible retail telecom scale, an installment-receivable book, and roughly 4,000 customers into the consolidated entity over a four-month contribution period. The third is the balance-sheet reconfiguration, with cash drawn down by $13.1M and a new $5M note payable added to fund the cash portion of the deal. Each of those forces points in a different direction, and the central analytical task is sequencing them correctly.

The bull case treats the logo acceleration as a leading indicator that converts into enterprise-wide deployment over twelve to twenty-four months, while the Estech base provides immediate recurring revenue scale and platform-software margin structure. The bear case reads the same numbers as evidence that headline growth has been purchased rather than earned, with diluted earnings per share actually declining from the prior year and goodwill already exceeding tangible assets on the pro-forma balance sheet. The honest reading sits between those poles, and depends on three observable variables: logo-to-revenue conversion, Estech organic retention, and the rate at which intangible amortization compresses reported GAAP profitability. None of those variables resolve cleanly inside the current quarter, which is why the report focuses on the mechanism rather than on any single reported number.
