Aldeyra Therapeutics Q2 FY2026: A Leaner Balance Sheet Meets the Reproxalap Resubmission Question

Published August 12, 202615 min read·TickerFile Research · Aldeyra Therapeutics, Inc. (ALDX)

Aldeyra Therapeutics enters the second quarter of fiscal 2026 the way few single-asset biotechs ever do: debt-free, cash-rich, and running at a deliberately reduced burn - with its most valuable asset still awaiting an answer. The numbers for the period ended June 30 are clean precisely because nothing commercial has happened yet. The company reported no product revenue, a net loss of $5.45 million (GAAP $0.09 per share) that was roughly half the $9.77 million (GAAP $0.16) a year earlier, and finished the quarter with $45.1 million of cash against zero debt. Management repaid its entire $15.0 million Hercules loan in April, cutting the historical interest burden and simplifying the balance sheet to cash, a small lease, and the AbbVie option.

The forward question is the whole investment case. Reproxalap, Aldeyra's RASP-modulator candidate for the signs and symptoms of dry eye disease, has now drawn three Complete Response Letters from the FDA - November 2023, April 2025, and the freshest, March 2026 - that have each set the approval path back. The company is scheduled to hold a Type D meeting with the FDA by the end of the third quarter to discuss a potential resubmission, and the exclusive option that AbbVie holds over the asset remains unexercised as of the report date. Around a reference price of $1.51, the market values Aldeyra at roughly $91 million of equity against $45 million of cash, an enterprise value of about $46 million for everything beyond the balance sheet: the reproxalap resubmission, a positive allergic-conjunctivitis data set, the ADX-2191 trial pending for 2026, and the AbbVie option itself. The stock sits roughly three-quarters below its August-2025 high. The quarter's message is discipline - a company conserving capital while it works out whether reproxalap has a path forward.
