Antelope Enterprise H1 FY2026 Earnings: The Pivot Hasn't Found Its Feet - The Balance Sheet Is Waiting

Published August 12, 202612 min read·TickerFile Research · Antelope Enterprise Holdings Ltd (AEHL)

Antelope Enterprise Holdings is the former China Ceramics tile maker that reinvented itself as a vendor to China's livestream ecommerce economy - a Chengdu-headquartered, Nasdaq-listed micro-cap that now sells livestreaming, technology, and traffic services to merchants rather than bathroom tiles. The reinvention is real in form but not yet in economics. For the six months ended March 31, 2026, revenue fell to $29.9 million from $48.7 million a year earlier, a 39% contraction, though gross margin rose to roughly 4.3% from 2.5% and the net loss narrowed to $2.6 million from $3.8 million. The top line shrank because the company abandoned its DOU+ advertising-resale line - a regulatory change in China rewrote how that spend is treated - and because merchant demand for its services keeps shifting. Stripping out government tax subsidies and a one-time payable write-back, the operating segments were barely profitable on their own; the company's real cash burn sits in roughly $4.0 million of unallocated corporate overhead, much of it stock-based compensation.

The more telling story is on the balance sheet, not the income statement. The single largest asset - $20.5 million, more than half of total assets - is a non-interest-bearing loan receivable to a separate borrower, Anhui Zhongjun, on which the company has waived interest and which is not due in full until December 2030. A further $5.3 million in notes receivable traces to the 2023 sale of the tile business. Real cash is just $1.8 million. At a market capitalization near $7.1 million at roughly $5.40 a share, the stock trades at about 0.2x sales and below a quarter of stated book value - a deep discount that is the market's judgment on the balance sheet's concentration in receivables, not a bargain signal. Three reverse splits in seventeen months, culminating in a 1-for-16 in August 2026, frame this as a company spending its equity to stay listed while its lending book waits to be tested.
